“Footprints in the butter: looking for the elephant in the archives” is the latest in a series of successful postgraduate conferences that have been organised by CELL staff and students. This conference will consider various methodologies and practical aspects of interdisciplinary archival research. Papers are invited from postgraduate students working in the early modern period and should consider any aspect of archival research. They are particularly interested in hearing from students working in unusual archives or who are seeking to match a body of material with a specific methodological question.
Proposals of 250-300 words for papers of 20 minutes should be sent to Matthew Symonds by 1 July, 2009. Any further questions can also be sent to the same address.
