20 Jan 2011: Dr Frances Harris, ‘The Knot and the Pentacle: Sir Robert Moray and His Anglo-Scottish Networks at the Stuart Courts’, Malet St room 538, 6.30 pm.
Sir Robert Moray (1608 or 1609 – 4 July 1673) was a soldier, statesman, diplomat, judge, spy, freemason and natural philosopher. He was well known to Charles I and Charles II , and the French cardinals Richelieu and Mazarin. He attended the first meeting of the Royal Society on 28 November 1660, and was influential its early development.

Membership can be obtained in person at any of our events. Membership for the academic year is £5 and you will be provided with a membership card. Once a member, there is no charge to attend our regular lectures, and we will not charge for as many other events as is possible. We may be able to offer special rates for our other events and conferences.
Non-members may attend any of our events for £3.
